Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you enjoyed a safe and joyous holiday with your loved ones last week. Here at Stine-Nichols Plumbing, we’re extremely thankful to have the opportunity to work with and provide plumbing services throughout this amazing community in Kansas City. No matter if it’s with residential homeowners, commercial businesses or on new construction projects, 2023 has been another fun and busy year. While our blog posts here typically cover various tips and tricks for understanding/managing your plumbing system more effectively, this week’s blog post will take a slightly different approach. Given that we just celebrated Thanksgiving and are officially in the holiday season, we thought it would be the perfect time to share a few of the things that we’re thankful for! With that all being said, let’s dive right in.

Our Team

“Teamwork makes the dream work.” I’m sure many people have heard this phrase before and there’s no denying that it still holds true today. When it comes to providing reliable plumbing services, you definitely need a team of experienced professionals, right? We’re lucky to have just that! When it comes to the plumbing world, two skills that are invaluable are the ability to troubleshoot through unique situations and being able to create an effective (and efficient) solution to a plumbing issue. After all, there are a wide array of potential plumbing projects out there! All in all, as we begin this week’s blog post, we would like to give a special thanks to our entire team for their hard work!

Our Clients

Having opened our business back in 2014, we’ve had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people throughout Kansas City and many of the surrounding cities. Olathe, Overland Park, Liberty, Kearney, Independence, Lee’s Summit, you name it! As mentioned in the opening paragraph, this has included homeowners, local businesses and even new construction projects. To sum it up, we’re happy to call Kansas City home and look forward to providing plumbing services in the years to come.

Our Vendors

As is the case with many other industries, having a reliable network of vendors is a must! Whether it be plumbing pipes, fixtures, equipment or anything else, our vendors have always been extremely helpful in our day-to-day operations. Attention-to-detail is definitely needed in the plumbing industry and we truly appreciate every vendor that we’ve worked with along the way.

Plumbing Fixture Brands

If you take a look through our Instagram or Facebook pages, you’ll see that a common project we have involves installing new plumbing fixtures. Simply put, there are many reasons as to why someone might want to have new fixtures installed. Some of the time, it is simply out of necessity as the existing fixture may no longer function properly. However, in other cases, you may be looking to modernize the space or even are embarking on a remodeling project. Nonetheless, you would be surprised just how big of a difference can be made by swapping out something like a faucet!

Having said that, the next thing we would like to display our gratitude for is the many different awesome plumbing fixture brands. Several of these brands are household names and have been around for years. Their consistent emphasis on innovation has truly transformed the plumbing industry. This includes not only creating products that work great and are efficient (which is obviously the most important part), but also make design and aesthetic improvements at the same time. While physical appearance likely isn’t something that you would associate with plumbing, it does play a role in the purchasing process for some fixtures. Faucets and free-standing bathtubs are two perfect examples of that!

Innovation

One word that was briefly mentioned in the section above was “innovation.” Unsurprisingly, innovation has been (and will continue to be) a critical aspect of just about every industry. Over time, we’ve had to adapt to the changing world and figure out better ways of doing things. And just as we said most people likely wouldn’t put aesthetics and plumbing together, the same could be said for technology and plumbing. In any case though, technology has been instrumental in the growth of the plumbing industry and something that we appreciate greatly. After all, as plumbers, it allows us to improve the services we provide to our customers. Here are a few examples of that:

Sewer Line Inspection Cameras: One of the bigger plumbing projects that our service team works on would likely be sewer line repairs or replacements. Given that they’re buried underground, it’s not hard to see why this would be true. While sewer lines are very durable, they can start to deteriorate over time. This can be due to tree root infiltration, pipes breaking down from old age and a few other things. Nonetheless, you don’t want to invest in a sewer line project unless you absolutely have to. And to take it one step further, it definitely helps to know where the issue resides to ensure you don’t pay for extra work that’s not needed. With the always-useful sewer line inspection cameras, plumbers are able to get an inside look at what’s going on inside your sewer line. This has definitely been a huge asset in streamlining the problem-solving process for any sewer line issues.

Smart Plumbing Fixtures: When it comes to technology directly impacting the plumbing world, fixtures are certainly another great example. While most fixtures serve a rather straightforward purpose (such as faucets or toilets), technological advancements have led the way for various ‘smart’ features to be implemented. As someone that’s been in the plumbing industry for more than a few years, it has been very cool to witness these new products hitting the market. From voice-activated faucets and toilets with heated seats to smart water heaters and more, we’re definitely curious at what the future may hold!

Efficiency Improvements: Our final example of plumbing innovation has to do with an increased focus on efficiency. While new technological features definitely add to the user experience, greater efficiency has the ability to save a little money on your utility bills and be better for the environment. A true win-win, right? We highlighted the talented fixture brands in the section above, but also wanted to emphasize the impact efficiency has had. After all, did you know that toilets used to use over 3 gallons of water per flush? Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for toilets to use a mere 1.28 gallons of water per flush. That’s quite the difference!

All in all, innovation is definitely needed in just about every industry! As a plumbing company, we continue to monitor these advancements, whether that be in relation to new equipment or modern fixtures. This is all done in an effort to be more efficient on the job and improve the services we provide to our customers!
