Being that we’re currently in the week of Thanksgiving, it goes without saying there’s a lot to be thankful for! We can’t say enough about our talented team of plumbers that truly go the extra mile day in and day out. Furthermore, we always have the utmost gratitude for our customers that trust us with all of their plumbing needs. We can’t forget our awesome vendors that we work with on a daily basis as well. Long story short, having been in business over 8 years now, it’s been a blessing to have the opportunity to work with so many amazing people. We look forward to seeing what the future holds.

For anyone that’s visited our plumbing blog before, you likely know that we like to discuss a wide range of plumbing topics. Whether that be tips on some DIY repairs, highlighting a few of our favorite fixture brands or anything else, there’s a lot to talk about with plumbing! That being said, as we enter the holiday season, we wanted to focus this week’s blog on a few different things in the plumbing world that we’re thankful for. As has been the case with many industries, the plumbing world has consistently evolved over the years. Let’s hop right in!

#1: Faucets to Match Any Bathroom or Kitchen Design

When it comes to aesthetics, there are certainly some limitations to certain plumbing components. And to be perfectly honest, with most of these components that have limited options available, chances are not that many people will be seeing them on a regular basis (thus the appearance isn’t all that important!). Nonetheless, one element where you can add your own personal touch is the faucets. While you may go with something basic for secondary bathrooms, the kitchen and master bathroom are two areas where we’ve seen homeowners put a little more thought into their faucet selection.

With that in mind, the first item that we’re thankful for is all of the talented faucet brands. Homeowners have a wide range of brands to choose from, including Moen, Delta, American Standard, Kraus, Pfister, Grohe and so on! In addition, with each of these brands, you’ll also have the opportunity to filter potential options by type, style, finish and price to find one that makes most sense for your personal situation. To sum it up, it’s always fun for us because we seemingly see new faucet designs all the time. Feel free to take a peek at our Instagram feed and you’ll see a number of different faucets!

#2: Sewer Inspection Cameras

While dealing with plumbing problems is never a fun time for homeowners, it’s safe to say the severity of the issue plays a role in the exact displeasure. Something like fixing a running toilet likely won’t be as frustrating as repairing a broken sewer line, right? Well, the next thing we’re thankful for is one that can be extremely useful when it comes to serious sewer line troubles. That tool is a sewer inspection camera! Unsurprisingly, it’s not easy to get eyes on a sewer line. After all, it’s buried underground and not something a homeowner can just readily check on. When you start to notice potential warning signs of a sewer line issue, it’s important to have an experienced plumber out to gauge the situation. With a sewer inspection camera, we can see what exactly is going on inside of your line to determine whether there is a break in the line, where it resides and recommend the best solution to get it resolved. Not to mention, it can also be a terrific tool used in an inspection prior to purchasing a home. If nothing else, it can give the prospective homebuyer the peace of mind that they’re not getting themselves into some major plumbing headaches that could’ve been avoided beforehand.

#3: Water Heater Safety

Water heaters are unsurprisingly a very important plumbing component. After all, I think just about everyone would agree that they expect to have hot water whenever they hop in the shower or turn on a faucet. That being said, water heaters are critical pieces to your plumbing system. While you always want it to be working correctly, you also want it to be done in a safe manner and not have to worry about an emergency arising from a water heater issue. Simple enough, right? When it comes to water heaters, there are a few safety features that help make this a reality. Two that we’re particularly thankful for are expansion tanks and T&P relief valves. When water is heated, it expands in volume. As this happens, the excess water needs somewhere to go to avoid added pressure being placed on the water heater itself. That’s where an expansion tank comes into play, as it takes on the extra volume to ensure your plumbing system can run like normal. The other item we mentioned was T&P relief valves. These serve a rather straightforward purpose as well. If the temperature or pressure gets too high, the T&P relief valves relieve this pressure with the help of the discharge line that runs alongside the side of your tank.

#4: Tech Meets Plumbing

If there’s one thing that’s for certain, it’s that our world is becoming increasingly digital. While the core premise of many things related to plumbing has remained the same, there’s no denying that technology has gradually become intertwined. After all, we just discussed how there are cameras that can go into your sewer line and provide a real-time feed on a screen. Well, there are also many other ways in which technology has made its impact on the plumbing world. This includes a bevy of smart plumbing fixtures. Toilets with heated seats, faucets with voice-activated capabilities, showers with built-in bluetooth-enabled speakers, you name it! We’re thankful for all of this innovation and definitely look forward to seeing what hits the market in the future.

#5: Our Team, Customers and Vendors

From our team of talented plumbing professionals to our amazing customers and vendors, we’ve been lucky to have had the honor of working with so many awesome people over the years! Whether it be on the residential, commercial or new construction side, it’s been a fun journey and we can’t wait to work on new plumbing projects all around Kansas City.
